I'm sure a lot of you are running here and there from work, from picking up kids from school, to taking them somewhere they absolutely need to be and there's little to no time to get dinner on the table. Then when you do get home, for instance, we get home at 7...and everyone wants to eat...I typically throw a salad together and put some frozen chicken in the oven. I mean, don't get me wrong it works, but sometimes, it gets old.
So, the question arises, how can I make this easier for me and on the fam? I know a lot of my friends say, "use the crock pot!" and I gotta tell you, I sort of loathe my crock pot. I think it has to do with finding meals, having all the ingredients together, hoping it comes out right and praying it tastes good so we can at least have it for two meals...sigh. Over.freaking.whelming, I tell ya.
A friend on mine referred me to a local farm to table store here and they just started their, "low and slow" meal kit. Each box contains some sort of meat (whatever is local & sustainable), veggies, spices, brother and fresh herbs...all for 2 meals, for a family of 4. What's even better? They deliver it to your door. How can I not pass this up?
We signed up for a meal subscription for every other week (twice a month) so we can decide if we like it, if it's worth our money, as it's roughly $64 a box, and really, to see how awesome it is.
I'm so excited that maybe, just maybe, this is take off the stress of dinner and the pressure of having to have something cooking the crock pot with my fingers crossed, hoping it'll take great.
What can help you make life a little easier...besides a personal chef?
